LOCATION AND ACTIVITIES: Località il Piano is a working organic farm in the rural Valnerina, near the village of Paterno and about 25 minutes from the city of Spoleto in the region of Umbria. Many guest choose to rent a car and take day trips to surrounding areas (about 35 minutes to Assisi or Norcia, 50 minutes to Perugia). Others use public transportation, or enjoy some of the numerous local hikes, rafting on the Nera River and donkey trekking. Most people enjoy just hanging out on the farm - visiting the animals, relaxing under the ancient oak trees, learning about vegetables in the garden, tasting our unusual and heritage fruit varieties, or participating in on-farm educational activities. ACCOMODATIONS AND PRICES: Our recently re-modelled rooms feature antique wooden furniture, private balconies, and beeswax-sealed terracotta floors. We have 3 comfortable double rooms with private baths, as well as 2 large double rooms that share a bath, with prices (valid 01 Jan 2013 through 31 Dec 2013) ranging from 50-90 euros per night per room. A discount is available for longer stays. Child cots are available upon request. A simple but abundant breakfast is included in the room price, usually our own fruit, jams and breads and baked goods. We are happy to accomodate food restrictions or allergies such as celiac disease when notified ahead of time.
